Unquestionably one of the most renowned cinematographer of his generation, André Turpin shot Denis Villeneuve’s Un 32 août sur Terre (August 32nd on earth) and Maelström, for which he earned both a Genie and a Jutra Award for best cinematography, and a special prize for artistic achievement at the 2000 Montreal World Film Festival. Other cinematography credits include Don McKellar’s Childstar, Louise Archambault's Familia as well as Philippe Falardeau’s Congorama and C’est pas moi, je le jure!.
André Turpin also wrote, directed and photographed the features Zigrail and Un crabe dans la tête (Soft Shell Man), as well of a segment of the omnibus feature Cosmos.
